SteamedPenguin vs. Turkish Hackers

I am a proponent of the Kurdish independence movement. While I would prefer that the people of Kurdistan remain as part of the Arab world, or at least in federation with the Arab world, I don't see that as a barrier to an independent Kurdish state. At some point I was helping out a friend who runs a Kurdish nationalist site. He's good people. This seems to have pissed off some Turkish nationalists and now SteamedPenguin seems to be on some lists. What these lists are for I can't say for sure, but when a URL is http://www.cyber-sabotage.org/ I don't think that is the best sign.

Here is the list of sites that have me listed:

If you look at the list of sites it becomes abundantly clear that these inbred cockroaches aren't the most creative people ever to walk the earth. Even better than their lack of creativity is that they are idiotic to the extreme. What else can we conclude about a group of people who have a forum dedicated to parapsychology? Or in Turkish, "Parapsikoloji."

Going back to the lack of creativity. These jackasses seem to copy the same list, over and over from each other. On one hand my site is now on four forums. On the other hand, if these forums are frequented by the same type of inbred morons I sleep very well.

Every once in a while I get an attempt to access the site in ways it was not meant to be accessed, so I check the IP addresses and I notice that some attempts come from Turkish colleges. Now, it might be that the good students just have bots on their computers, but just in case I will be adding any Turkish netblock that has an attack originate from it to my .htaccess blacklist and I will publish the institution that controls the netblock.

A New Dawn for the Middle East

I've always enjoyed designing flags and family seals. Recently with the aid of Inkscape designing has become a much easier process, which is pretty cool as far as I am concerned, but even cooler is their use of WordPress to power their news section.

Something that has been keeping me thinking is a socio-political movement than goes beyond the old-school Pan-Arabism. Some people might wonder why. While some people are very strong supporters if Middle Eastern cultural and political independence they do not identify as Arab and I think we need to make better overtures to have them better represented. A point in case are many Kurds thinkers and freedom fighters who are our natural allies against Imperialism. Another strong case can be made for Iranis who, while technically aren't Middle Eastern, so regularly get lumped in with Middle Easterners that it makes them our allies. In any case, increasing more cultural and political points of view makes for a stronger movement.

New DawnNew Dawn

So in thinking about flags and a pan-Middle-Eastern movement I came up with a flag I just call "New Dawn." The inspiration came from some Kurdish flags, and the flag uses the traditional pan-Arab colors in addition to yellow which covers the Kurdish red, green and yellow colors. Iran is represented by the red, green and white colors. One comment I've gotten is that the black and yellow combo gives off a nice vibe that says: don't fuck with me. Which I appreciate as the opposite of: I'll fuck with you.
