I was telling my sweetie about a project to have plants notify their tenders when they need water via Twitter. Hat tip to SlashDot.

I noticed a lot of traffic being directed my way via irc-galleria.com. This was interesting to me until I realized that it was some jackass abusing my bandwidth through hotlinking. At first I blocked referrals from irc-galleria.com but then I decided to have some fun.
I realized that the hotlinker wasn't smart enough to check if the image actually exists on my server. I guess he must have found a cached image on Google Images and used a stale link. This lead to me getting flooded with File Not Found notices. So I created an image with that old filename so that it would get displayed on the hotlinkers' site. The image that I created has a simple message: "I am an idiot"
